Austin Comprehensive Growth Plan - Voice Your Opinion

Austin Announces New Comprehensive Growth Plan
The Austin Statesman wrote today (by Kate Miller Morton) that the City of Austin is considering updating Austin's growth plan, the last of which was updated in 1979.  Hello? Update it already people. A link to the article is below.

Austin's Population to Double by 2025
The word on the street is that the Austin metropolitan area is expected to DOUBLE in the next 20 years.  That's a whole lot of peeps...and a whole lot of cars.  Most of the growth is from people coming from last-year's-news-hotspots like Florida, Miami, Arizona, New York, etc.  Austin's hot and getting hotter and everyone wants to be here and that's great, but the City of Austin had better play catch up to make the population boom sustainable on city resources and structure.

What Areas Should the City of Austin Focus on For Planning for Growth
I'll be interested to hear your opinions of where the City of Austin should focus their efforts in preparing for a double-dose-head-count and what are your main concerns?  Do you have suggestions?  I'll be happy to pass along your thoughts to the City of Austin or the Statesman newpaper to get your opinion heard.  Email me or even better post a comment to the blog below.
